These days are a relaxed way to photograph some of our frogs and are strictly limited to just three photographers per group session. Each group session lasts 2.5 hours which will give you plenty of time and plenty of space to photograph these fascinating little creatures. The cost is £55 per photographer per group session.
These workshops take place at Kinson Community Centre, Pelhams Park, Millhams Road, Kinson, Bournemouth BH10 7LH. There is ample free parking on site as well as toilet facilities and limited vending machine refreshments and snacks.
The Morning group session runs from 10.00AM to 12.30PM
The Afternoon group session runs from 1.30PM until 4.00PM
(When booking your day please specify which session you are booking)
The session will start with a quick safety talk and a brief introduction to the lighting system as well as the settings that you will need on the day to get the best results. After this introduction we begin to photograph the animals using our props and set ups. During the day there is always an experienced photographer on hand to give advice and help you make the most of your day.
We provide all the props, studio flash lighting equipment, stands, backgrounds and standard hot shoe triggers (users of Sony cameras that use the old Minolta Flash fitting will need to bring an adapter) as well as a variety of frogs for you to photograph during the session.
What you need to bring: You will need a camera which has a standard flash hot shoe fitting, plenty of memory and batteries for your day. The Centre operates a limited number of vending machines for snacks and refreshments, or simply bring your own on the day.
Recommended Camera Equipment: You will need a DSLR camera, Compact System Camera or a high end “bridge” camera that is capable of being set to manual exposure with the ability to control ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed. The camera will also need to be able to accept a standard flash “hot-shoe” fitting flash trigger.
You will be expected to know how to put the camera in manual exposure mode, and be able to change the ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture settings, all of which will be in the hand book.
Lenses we recommend are a macro lens of around 100mm and a zoom of around 70 – 200 mm or more.
Some Sony cameras have non-standard flash hot shoe fitting that will require you to bring an adapter to use our triggers. (Adapters can be found on Amazon and Ebay quite readily).
