If you need to contact us please use either the Booking/Contact Form, our Email Address or our Telephone Number only.

We may not respond to any other methods such as Facebook Messaging, SMS Texting etc.

Our usual office hours are Monday to Friday 10.00AM to 4.00PM and there is a 24 hour answering service on our phone.

We will try to reply to any messages within 1 working day although there may be times when this takes longer.

Deposits And Booking

Upon booking your day with us we will send you an Invoice for the Deposit Payment that must be paid before your bookings are confirmed. At present payments can be made via PayPal, Bank Transfer or Cheque (Cheques made payable to M Herbert).

All Deposits are non-refundable. In the event of us being unable to run the day for any reason (such as bad weather or equipment failure) you will be offered the opportunity to re-book on another day.

In the event of you being unable to attend on the day you booked, provided that you give us at least 24 hours notice we will offer you the opportunity to re-book another day from our available dates. If you provide less than 24 hours notice any offer to re-book will be at our discretion and you may lose your deposit payment.

If you do not turn up on the day without informing us at least 24 hours in advance you will lose your deposit and will not be offered to return on another available day. Should you book another day with us you will be asked to pay the full amount of the day at the time of booking.

Bad Weather Policy

We are not responsible for the weather. Our decision to run our outdoor photo days is made 24 hours in advance using a variety of different weather forecast sources and sometimes they, and we, will get it wrong.

Our indoor Liberty’s Birds Of Prey Studio day is held inside a barn that is also used for public flying displays when it is raining which means that we may have to vacate the area for around 30 minutes whilst the display goes ahead. Should this effect our program we will make up any lost time at the end of the day.

If we cancel a day due to the weather we will try to inform you by either telephone or email of our decision as early as possible.

If we cancel a day for any reason including the weather you will be offered the opportunity to return on another available day of your choosing.

If you choose not to turn up on the day that you booked without any prior notice and without any cancellation from us you will lose your deposit that was paid for that day. If in doubt please telephone or email us.

We suggest that if you are traveling any distance you contact us 24 hours before via telephone to confirm our decision.

Cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel any of our days at any time for any reason. These reasons could include, but are not restricted to, illness, welfare of our birds and animals, mechanical and equipment breakdown or failure, weather and weather damage as well as disease control measures such as “bird flu”. Obviously it is not in our interest to cancel any of our days and we will do as much as we reasonably can to avoid doing so.

If you cancel your booking with us we require at least 24 hours notice or more. Please note that any deposits that have been paid are non-refundable.

Vouchers

1: Currently we do not sell our own “CaptiveLight” Vouchers for our photo workshops although if you would like to buy one of our days as a present for someone we may be able to come to an arrangement if you contact us with your request.

2: Liberty’s Centre Photo Day Vouchers are sold by Liberty’s Owl, Raptor And Reptile Centre directly from their website. Captivelight merely advertise these vouchers via a link on our website and CaptiveLight are not responsible for vouchers should Liberty’s Centre be unable to fulfill or redeem them for any reason.

Studio Based Days

Some of our days take place in an indoor studio environment. On these days we will provide the flash units, light stands, back ground stands, as well as a limited selection of light diffusers/reflectors, backgrounds and props of our choosing.

We also provide simple standard fitting flash triggers which fit on the vast majority of cameras that have a standard flash “hotshoe” mount. Some Sony (and old Minolta) cameras have a non-standard flash fitting for which adapters are available to convert them to a standard fitting. If you have a Sony camera it is worth checking with Sony as to whether or not you will need an adapter. It is your responsibility to provide one if required as we do not provide them. Adapters can be bought quite reasonably from outlets such as Amazon and Ebay.

Photos that you take during our bird, animal or water drop workshops belong to you and you are free to do with them as you please unless they include a member of staff recognizable in the image (see below). This would include private use, internet “posting” on social media or photography sites, sharing as well as commercial use such as print sales, digital image sales. Should you require a property release form please contact us.

Photos taken by you on any human model sessions or which feature a recognizable image of a member of staff also belong to you, however we ask that no pictures are used commercially without the model’s permission. To obtain a model release for any commercial use may require a fee to be paid. Commercial use is defined as using or trying to use the picture/image in any form to obtain payment or gain in any form.

General Terms And Conditions

1: We are not responsible for your equipment or belongings when you attend our days and we provide no facilities for their storage or safety. Your equipment and belongings are your responsibility at all times.

2: It is your responsibility to dress appropriately on the day with regard to weather conditions, environment and temperature. Some of our days take place outdoors and we advise that you wear clothing that is appropriate to the activities and conditions.

3: We do not tolerate any discrimination on the grounds of ethnicity or race, religious beliefs or a person’s age or sex, nor do we tolerate any abusive behavior towards other clients or staff. Anyone being abusive may be asked to leave. If you feel that you are being the subject of any abuse on the day please see the group leader with your concerns.

4: We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time.
